ECE Winter Party
Each year, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at
Carnegie Mellon throws a Winter Party, complete with talent show. The
last three years I was there, I helped put together a rock band to
play. I'm posting some of our performances here.
2002
"Tim Warneck and the Level G Orchestra". This was a pretty standard
small rock ensemble, dressed in grass skirts for the tropical party
theme: John Neumann, piano, guitar, and vocals; Tim Warneck, piano,
Hammond B3; Matt Grosland, drums; Brett Diamond, trumpet and synth;
Aneesh, acoustic guitar and vocals; Jason Cohen, bass; Drew Danielson,
surprise guest. Whip It! Free Bird (Reggae Style) A Very Special Surprise Guest
2003
The "Level G Orchestra" started to live up to its name, at least with
regard to size. This year was the biggest and best, with an 11-person
band. John Neumann, bass, violin, drums; Tim Warneck, piano, Hammond,
Clavinet, Rhodes; Brett Diamond, trumpet, Arp Soloist; Mike and Matt on
trombone and sax; Tom Sullivan, guitar, bass; Mike Daley, guitar; Matt
Grosland, drums, very special vocal performance; Tudor Dumitras, very
deep vocal performance; Jim Bain, Drew Danielson, Meighan Lloyd, vocals. Gimme Some Lovin' One Week You Make Loving Fun The Devil Went Down to Georgia Czardas (classical violin piece) Dream Weaver (featuring Wayne Newton, Johnny Cash, and Eric Cartman)
Brick House (sorry, the camera guy left because everybody started dancing. But it was very funky.)
2004
Both Tim and Matt moved away, so we ("The Art Vandelay Experience") had
to strip down to basics. John Neumann, guitar, backup vocals; Dave
Decker, bass guitar, vocals; Drew Danielson, bass and vocals;
Alan Grupe, drums.
I don't have these digitized yet...
